TAMLA MOTOWN RECORDS

First issued in the UK with it's own logo by EMI in March 1965. Previous material from Berry Gordy's various USA Detroit labels was released in the UK on home labels Fontana, London, Oriole and Stateside. In 1976 Tamla was dropped from the title and the label become solely Motown

Original Pressings have wording beginning "Sold In The UK Subject To" in the centre of the label, and a "KT" etching in the runout area (EMI Internal Tax Coding, discontinued on 31/12/1968).

Issued with both Four-Prong "Push-Out" Label Centres and "Solid" Label Centres
